Equine Joints
Joints have the function of connecting bones and enabling them to move. Synovial joints are the most common and most movable type of joint.
The bones that make up a synovial joint are covered with a thin layer of shock-absorbing cartilage that provides a surface for bones to move against. The synovial membrane secretes fluid that lubricates, cushions and nourishes the joint.
Joint Supplements
Healthy joints are essential for comfort and mobility. However, due to aging, wear and tear, injury or disease, joints can become damaged. For these conditions there is a wide selection of joint supplements that can assist in improving mobility and reducing discomfort and inflammation.

Guide to Ingredients
Hyaluronic Acid (HA)
An important component of synovial fluid, hyaluronic acid is responsible for the lubrication and shock-absorbing properties of the fluid. HA is also a component of articular cartilage. Hyaluronic acid is also known as hyaluron or sodium hyaluronate.
Glucosamine
Glucosamine is a building block in the body used to produce Glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) which are key structural components of cartilage. With age there is a decline in the body’s synthesis of glucosamine that results in a degeneration in joint cartilage, with subsequent joint space narrowing. Forms of glucosamine include glucosamine HCL (hydrochloride) and glucosamine sulfate.
Chondroitin
Chondroitin Sulfate or Chondroitin Sulphate is a glycosaminoglycan (GAG), glycosaminoglycans are important structural components of cartilage. Chondroitin sulfate gives cartilage its properties of elasticity and resistance to compression.
MSM
(Methylsulfanylmethane) A naturally occurring sulfur compound used to help reduce pain and inflammation.
Analgesics
A diverse group of compounds used as pain killers. Common herbal analgesics are Devil’s claw and yucca, along with white willow bark, meadowsweet, snake root and boswellia.
Devil’s Claw
An herbal anti-inflammatory and analgesic for pain relief and reducing inflammation in equine joints. It has been proven to be an effective replacement for phenylbutazone (‘bute’) and cortisone with the added benefit of not having the side effects of these equine medicines.
Yucca
Extracts from Yucca root are used to relieve joint pain and stiffness.
Methionine
An essential amino acid that is a primary source of sulfur. Sulfur promotes strong and healthy bones.

The lot number can be found at the bottom of the bag on a small white sticker. The company believes this is an isolated incident but we want to make you aware as an additional precaution.
