Dear Customers,
Ovation Protégé Matte Helmet and Ovation Protégé Helmet Pending Voluntary Product Recall Announcement- December 23, 2022 – 2p EST
The US distributor of Ovation helmets, English Riding Supply (ERS), has notified Dover Saddlery of a pending voluntary recall of some its Protégé Matte Helmets (Dover Saddlery item # 36589) and Protégé Helmets (Dover Saddlery item # 36587). ERS has determined that some of its Ovation Protégé model equestrian helmets may not comply with ASTM F1163-15 impact test requirements even though the Safety Equipment Institute (SEI) has certified the Ovation Protégé as compliant with the ASTM F1136-15 requirement for many years. According to ERS, Impacted Ovation Protégé helmets at this time have a manufactured date stamp (located inside the helmet) from December 2020 – December 2022.
Out of an abundance of caution, ERS has suggested that owners of Ovation Protégé Matte and Ovation Protégé helmets in only this date range should discontinue use and bring back to the point of sale for an exchange of an Ovation Deluxe Schooler helmet. ERS and Dover Saddlery apologize for this inconvenience; safety is our number one priority.
Please feel free to contact us at DoverSaddlery.com/chat or email customerservice@doversaddlery.com with questions, we are standing by to help facilitate your return.
