The Romfh Story
Lifelong rider, avid athlete and fashion designer Laura Romfh is the founder and designer of this life-altering brand. She was born into a Florida-based equestrian family and started riding when she was two years old at her grandparents’ farm. From those early lessons to dressage shows and eventing as an adult in the Pacific Northwest, riding has been a part of Romfh’s life since the beginning. She attended the prestigious Parsons School of Design in Los Angeles. With both a lifetime of riding under her belt and the best fashion design education, her obvious path was to start her own clothing company—at the age of just 25. Romfh, also a dedicated runner, hiker and back-packer, had experienced the ways in which special fabrics and fibers made outdoor activities fun and comfortable. She recognized that equestrian apparel was missing those benefits entirely. Riding attire at the time featured cotton, acrylic, nylon or polyester—and not the latest athletic versions of these. She also noticed that riding clothing didn’t really fit. Polos were boxy and unflattering, and breeches were shaped as if made for little boys with no curves.
