Twitches
A horse twitch is a type of restraint. Use of a twitch may be necessary for an animal husbandry procedure to take place. A twitch applies pressure to the horse's upper lip. It should never be kept in place for more than 15 to 20 minutes, and should never be used alone. A halter and lead line should always be placed on the horse first. Some horse owners keep a twitch in their horse's first aid kit.
