The latest design from E.A. Mattes: the Platinum EWWA Sheepskin Dressage Correction Half Pad with Rear Trim. Designed specifically for high-withered horses, it has an extra-wide wither area. It helps reduce or eliminate pressure in the wither area and supports a proper saddle fit. The EWWA Pad maintains the patented Spine Free® design, with the channel opening lower on the withers. Lambskin trim offers a stylish look.
Please note: If the EWWA Pad is used on a horse that does not have high withers, rubs along the side of the withers may result.
The Correction System for this half pad includes two pockets and comes with three 5mm thick Poly-Flex® shims for each pocket (six total). Poly-Flex shims offers pressure relief and some shock absorption. The shims are flexible and easy to change and stack to help adjust the way a saddle sits on your horse’s back.
E.A. Mattes developed the Correction System to help riders compensate easily and quickly for the rapid physical development of young horses in training, for horses that have been out of work for some time or for trained horses which change shape during the competition season. Shims can be added or removed as needed to suit the horse’s changing shape.
