Equine Elixirs Symbiotic® with probiotics and prebiotics is designed to support optimum digestive function and immune health in horses. Symbiotic helps maintain a healthy bacterial population throughout the horse’s gastrointestinal tract. A proprietary blend of probiotics and prebiotics is beneficial for horses that have difficulty maintaining weight, are susceptible to hindgut issues or loose manure and those at risk for gastric upset due to stress, traveling, training, or changes in their diet or environment.

Because horses are hindgut fermenters, they use beneficial bacteria and other microorganisms to help digest fiber. The fermentation of fiber in the hindgut produces volatile fatty acids utilized for energy and synthesis of B vitamins. Most live probiotics die during processing and packaging, long before reaching your horse. Symbiotic contains Saccharomyces Boulardii, a live microorganism that does not require refrigeration and can withstand GI stresses to colonize the hindgut.

Together with TruEquine™ Yeast Culture (saccharomyces cerevisiae), this combination of live probiotics and prebiotics helps beneficial bacteria flourish. It also supports a tight intestinal lining that filters out toxins that could be absorbed into the bloodstream via “leaky gut.”
