Elevate® Maintenance Powder from Kentucky Performance Products provides horses with a natural, highly bioavailable source of vitamin E. Vitamin E is required by horses for proper muscle and nerve function as well as immune system support. It is also a powerful antioxidant that works to limit damage cause by everyday oxidative stress. Vitamin E cannot be synthesized by horses, and therefore, it is considered an essential nutrient to be consumed. Fresh green grass is a source of natural vitamin E, but many horses do not have adequate access to grass in order to consume enough of the nutrient. Equine athletes, breeding stock and horses with certain muscular disorders may require supplemental vitamin E. Hardworking horses that lack adequate stores of vitamin E may experience muscle soreness or stiffness during exercise or suffer prolonged recovery times after strenuous work.
