Dress Sheets

A dress sheet is an attractive, traditional horse clothing staple favored by equestrians who compete their horses. A classic dress sheet is made of wool, although some are available in fleece. It provides a light layer of breathable warmth and a polished look around the show grounds or while trucking. Dress sheets come in a variety of colors and plaids, and are typically finished with contrasting trim, piping or both; some have a fancy hip ornament. A dress sheet has minimal fastenings, such as a single chest buckle, single belly surcingle and a tail cord, and because of these, it is not meant to be left on a horse that is unattended or turned out. Many horse owners add a monogram to their horse’s dress sheet to create a distinctive look.
